2025 Fall English Corner kicks off on Friday, Sep. 26!

This activity encourages local and foreign students in the Department of Chemistry to interact and exchange learning experiences with each other.

Event: English Corner
Time: Every Friday 4-5pm
Location: CH4008
Note: Refreshments will be provided and activities must be conducted entirely in English.

Objectives:
The aim of this activity is to encourage interaction and conversation between local and international students in our department (including undergraduate and graduate students). We hope to provide a weekly opportunity for students to practice English in a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere, thereby improving their fluency and communication skills. The activity also offers students a chance to discuss chemistry-related knowledge, connect it with physical sciences, and, through meaningful exchanges, cultivate respect for and appreciation of diverse international cultures.

Format:
Light refreshments such as coffee, tea, and pastries will be provided to create a friendly and relaxed environment for scientific conversation and student interaction. At the start of each session, a faculty member will lead the discussion and share new knowledge in chemistry along with personal experiences. In subsequent sessions, students—especially international students together with local students—will take the lead in guiding the direction of the discussions.
