Applications are now open for the Dual Ph.D. Degree Program with Niigata University starting in October 2026. Students who are interested in applying are kindly requested to submit the required application documents to Niigata University within the application period.
Program Overview
Up to 5 positions are available each year. Students are only required to pay tuition and fees to National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU).
Participants are required to conduct research at Niigata University for at least one year.
Each student will be jointly supervised by advisors from both universities and is required to complete one doctoral dissertation at each institution.
Eligibility
Applicants must be current Ph.D. students or newly admitted Ph.D. students in the College of Science, and must have at least three years of research experience in a related doctoral program.

7. Abstract of Master’s thesis
8. Research achievements (e.g., published journal papers, patents, etc.)
9. Research proposal (please use the form provided by Niigata University; applicants should discuss the research topic with the prospective advisor at Niigata University in advance)
10. Proof of English proficiency (TOEFL, TOEIC, or IELTS taken within the past three years)
11. Certificate of enrollment or admission letter
12. Copy of passport
